HALL OF SHAME

Blaming Polish Americans or Poland has increased lately and is becoming a new norm for some. Politicians do it mostly pressured by powerful lobbyists. Since there is no apparent cost to any Poland bashing, it does not take much to convince a politician towards anti Polish behavior. Offending Poland and Poles by assigning them derogatory features is pure racial and nationalist discrimination. We have decided to point to some of the most outrageous outbursts of insensitivity, arrogance, and discrimination. Before you vote, check our Hall of Shame. Politicians who have made it to our Hall of Shame act like enemies of Polish Americans and Poland, and do not deserve our vote.

Our intention is to work together towards common good and not to dig trenches of hatred or division. A politician will have an opportunity to recant the position that landed him or her on our Hall of Shame and be removed from the list.

Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), James Lankford (R-OK), and Jacky Rosen (D-NV) led a bipartisan letter to Polish President Andrzej Duda raising their concerns with legislation that is being considered by Poland’s Senate. They are calling for a veto on the re-privatization law. Joining them in sending the letter were Senators Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), Bob Casey (D-PA), Ron Wyden (D-OR), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and Chris Coons (D-DE). “We strongly believe that this law would significantly increase the existing difficulties that prevent victims and their families from seeking reimbursement and compensation for property unlawfully taken from them by Nazi Germany and the communist government of Poland,” the senators wrote in the letter.
